Summary: Now that Claire's made it back to Australia, she can no longer bring herself to eat peanut butter.
Now that she’s made it back to Australia, and can have all the peanut butter she likes, Claire’s realised that she can no longer bring herself to eat it.
The mere sight of a jar of peanut butter takes her straight back to being on the island with Charlie, firstly the day he’d given her that empty jar and told her to pretend there was peanut butter there so that he could persuade her to move to the caves, then the time Charlie had given her a real jar after Hurley had found the DHARMA food supplies. She’d imagined the two of them back in Australia, sharing their first peanut butter off-island; now the taste turns to sawdust in her mouth as she thinks about the fact that Charlie never made it home.
